Our Enculturated Conditioned Civilized Path — the Breeding of Sorrow

a path

of separation

fear

an imprisonment of the mind

a story of war

war within

war without

a path designed by ignorance

by those enculturated

by authority

conditioned into the young

through trauma, dysfunction

a system forcing them to silence their wonder

to silence their curiosity

to silence their authentic voices

their egos grow and adapt

formulating masks to wear and present

finding ways to survive the best way they know how

And here, we buy into the cultural story

that there is something wrong with us

something wrong in the world

and so we project this belief

and in this belief

Maya lies

fragmented

formulaic

destructive

a name called many names

its self-proclaimed visions

constructed out of its veil of separation

insecurities and deceptions

formed out of the composite of fear

the desires of ignorance

the clinging of possessiveness

the fear of boredom

the fear of getting out of the

hampster wheel of our

lives of discontent

the enculturation

blossoming in twists and turns for millenniums

stemming into greed

and thorns of hate

blooming blind righteousness

the fragmented delusional hierarchy

a system of corruption

of oppression

everyone vying for some sense of power

buying into continual wars

the enculturation

enslaves by its ideological rewards of

a perceived success

by its educational authoritative force

giving rise to robotic humans

Photo by Taylor Flowe on Unsplash

devoid of critical thought and love

it enslaves with its double-speak propaganda

by it’s bloody guns and missiles

through consumerism’s addictiveness

in time

most want to hold on

for want of security

though in the end

it’s self-sustaining agenda

breeds sorrow

struggle

violence

domination

into social and ecological

degradation and despair

this civilization

is the calling of the will

to blow itself

like a tempest

on to the world

upon all

it comes across

to make itself known

attractive

to destroy those that don’t fit into its creed

It is the refined summons

of self-division

Of proclaimed analytical rationalizations

A self-imposed ignorance

as the emblem of civilized ideologies

the conforming affair

of obsessions and ambitions

the implementation

Photo by Social History Archive on Unsplash

of brutality and slavery

racism and sexism

genocide and ecocide

war and pestilence

the win-at-all-cost mentality

it is the craving of pleasure

the escape from pain

through its blind attachments

which, in the beginning

and the end

blooms destruction

for in its chattering obsessions

are always divided

marginalized

Photo by Rafaella Mendes Diniz on Unsplash

appearing at times debonair, stylish, clever, arrogant

Photo by Levi Meir Clancy on Unsplash

other times ugly, greedy, murderous, deceptive, insecure

a common bond, a common pull

a bond of want, of more

More….power

fame, purpose, control

land, people, riches

spirituality

yet

it can never be satiated

in its

self held beliefs

it faithfully battles, isolates

creating mirages of synthetic meaning

for its own perpetuation

in its all-consuming conquest

hell is formulated

in the constant assault

against the body, people, and the environment

it splinters people from community

community from nature

and distorts it into polluted fractures

of a pervasive sickness

lurking in our educational systems

students formed and molded

voices tempered

their ideas conditioned

their visions, not their own

imprisonment become their path

their own passions

and sense of wonder

becoming

embers in the winter

of society’s discontent

their awake consciousness

lost by the edifice of their ego-tyrant

as the subtle violence

and authority is continuously perpetuated

they lose themselves

and so continue the blindness

that lies within their elders

suffering not peace

unhealth not health

conflict not communion

is the nature of

the enculturated way
