I SEE INTO THE DEPTHS

i see

into the depths of ignorance

the disillusionment

the decaying rot

the fear based ideology

that slips into

our actions

that follows

our culture’s

every move

our culture fights against

this seeing

never slowing down

to let go into what is

in a simple glimpse

we would see that

the collective consciousness

of the masses

are subjugated

to its divisive ideology

governed by

fear

ignorance

division

security

hatred

spreading violence

and ecological catastrophe

of prodigious proportions

without knowing

we are

a culture of carnage

and few question this

we have been

relentlessly participating

in wars

upon

horrific wars

wars we

continue

to sophisticate

and rationalize

as we build

more and more

vicious ways

to alienate people

sexism

racism

Impoverishment

the collective

acceptance of murder

through the violence of

war

both

mind and body

murder all life

in the name

of country

of religion

of power

through

propaganda

through

the killing machine

of greed fear and hate

we continue

to be told lies

as if war

is noble and honorable

when the reality is

war creates

nothing but horror

and relentless trauma

against people

the wilderness

and our very home

the earth

when I say

our culture

I mean

what we see

now globally

a culture

conditioned by

authoritative rule

ignorance placed

through education

within the minds

of the young

through stories and beliefs

fear blossoming

within the individual

aging together

into a culture of despair
