Division Only Exists in Inculturated Thought

I sit looking out into the vast ocean

I see that in this quiet no divisions exist

all is connected and i am not only a part of it all

but all of this flows into me

Behind a great metropolitan city girths the beaches

wealth directly behind me and then moving towards

more impoverishment the deeper one goes

I see so clearly in this contemplation that….

division only exists in inculturated thought

thought based in separation and hierarchy

only creates more separation and hierarchy

Thought built on separation looks for outward connections

hence

the more one craves pleasure

the more one suffers

the more one runs away from pain

the more one suffers

the more one creates strong beliefs and identities

the more closed and fear based one becomes

revenge creates revenge

hate creates hate

the more one competes and shoves ahead

the more behind and imprisoned one becomes

the more one holds on

the more one manufactures chains

the more one tries to crave enlightenment

the more blind one becomes

the more one owns

the more enslaved one becomes

the more one creates the enemy

The more one feels the need for weapons and hate

the more one poisons and pollutes

the more polluted and poisoned one becomes

the more one believes that the natural world is separate

the more one alienates oneself from life -

the more a society pushes out wildness and interconnectivity

the more that society creates dysfunction and violence

towards the natural world

the more divided a culture is

The more people and politicians don’t care

The more the culture desires power and wealth

and creates the illusion that this is success

the more violence there will be

— —

love is coming together

seeing your neighbor

seeing your brothers sisters

in not just humans

but with all life

love is

dialogues openly about issues

and let’s go of the

known and ego security

and releases the chains

to hierarchy and violence

What would you give up for love?

all of life is my family

all ages are my family

diversity is beauty and health

wholeness includes all

all is me

Seeing this

what do I need?

Seeing this I see love

I am a transpersonal therapist, a teacher, and love wonder. I have explored many wild places. Wholeness and love is what it is all about for me.
